Songs from Christmas

01/05/12

Glen Jones

Christmas is a time of year when people often experience a heightened sense of tradition. We want Christmas to be just like we've always had it since we were a kid. Traditions are good, and rightly used can point us towards Jesus. But just because a carol has been sung for years, doesn't mean it will point us to Jesus. That's why at Redeemer we want to choose carols from our tradition that point us to the message of Christmas - the Jesus Christ has come into the world to live a perfect life, die on the cross and rise again for sinners such as you and I. That's the joy of Christmas - so that's what we want to sing about.
